Aurora of the eventide,
barely ajar my sight.
Discerning this surreal terrain,
amongst Thou sow thy stripe.
Thy chimaera, thy cryptic game,
thy misanthropic gust.
Some of us withstand the flames,
while the rest reduce to dust.
And the people spite the crowd,
and the opulent feast in junk,
and flesh shuns kin blood,
and the beggar envies bum.
Entranced, in stupor, I feed on thy fruit,
to be the fairest of them all.
I fast on virtue
and disgorge dispute.
Go ahead and taunt thy compliant thrall.

Thou mounted on thy chariot,
queen of sorrow and of sighing.
Goading on thy steeds,
outraged gorgon child of night.
Boasting thy mane of
a hundred hissing serpent heads.
My girl of the flashing eyes,
Thou hast materialized, enthralling firefly.
Thou enlighten or blind?
Unleash or pull from behind?
Thou the other that hast become the self,
I fail to transcend.
I conquered with thy sword
and broke through the grimmest groves.
But Thou anointed with forget,
oh Lethe, I am forever in debt.

Hold my hand, my dear foe,
so hard that blood ceases to flow.
So to retain the day Thou came to stay
and this child inveigh.
So what am I but trite,
Writhing through the night,
with no language but a cry?
And what are Thou but the rope,
The gallows up my throat,
all I cared Thou have smote?
So hold my hand, my dear friend,
for now in Thou I depend.
So to forget the day Thou came to stay
and turn this life so grey.
Wither away on thy dismay,
sour tears will always rain on my parade.
Wither away on thy charade,
cold tears will always rain on my parade.

Embrace thy microcosm,
thy precious crystal dome.
Foster thy neighbor,
revere the indigenous.
Thou that proscribes both
the feeble and the strong.
Thou brand me a braggart,
but my abasing is lifelong.
Thou hast contrived me
too frail to be a man.
Thou hast begot me
too grim to be a girl.
Is it me being insolent?
Give me one good reason to give heed.
Whom shalt be thine advocate?
I demand my justice, I demand my meed.
Thus I shalt be banished not servile
and defy both earthbound and divine.
I shan’t deliver again,
without getting something in return.
Seest thou how god with his lightning smites always the bigger animals and wilt not suffer them to wax insolent, while those of a lesser bulk chafe him not? How likewise his bolts fall ever on the highest houses and the tallest trees? So plainly does he love to bring down everything that exalts itself. Thus ofttimes a mighty host is discomfited by a few men, when god in his jealousy sends fear or storm from heaven and they perish in a way unworthy of them. For god allows no one to have high thoughts but himself.

Thou glide above us,
conceited,
in thy ebony cloak.
Holier than thou
and yet forlorn.
My sins do weigh
in thy compendium of souls.
My raft is capsized,
apostatized.
I can bear Thou no further
Thou wilt acknowledge the sign.
I wilt decree
my passing time.
Thou hast nested in my shadow
and filled with larvae my heart.
Relishing every dying sun
and the Harvest season to come.

Thou,
dweller in the threshold.
Deriding delirium,
squanderer of life.
Thou hast forged
with stoical perseverance,
this restraints
trammeling my soul.
Thou hast gorged
devoid of temperance,
the utmost crumb
of my whole.
Allow me
to venture infinity,
please concede me
a truce.
And I wilt comply
to my triviality,
vindicate
thy recluse.
Thou the puppeteer,
begetter of misery.
The languor that pronounces me
thy perpetual bride.
Thou the almighty,
path to impending doom.
We are symbionts
my beloved groom.
Vindicate me,
exculpate me,
liberate me,
thy recluse.
